Responsibilities
- Design and build cloud-native applications, APIs, microservices, and event-driven pipelines on AWS.
- Develop Python backend services and automation that reliably process large volumes of market and energy data.
- Architect platforms supporting market data, pricing, analytics, and pre-trade workflows.
- Codify repeatable and auditable infrastructure using Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation.
- Build CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, monitoring, and observability for production systems.
- Improve security, performance, reliability, scalability, and AWS cost efficiency.
- Lead architecture and code reviews and establish long-term engineering standards.
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on backend development experience with strong object-oriented design, including event-driven and distributed systems.
- 5+ years building complex Python applications that handle high-volume data, APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- 5+ years deploying Python applications on AWS, ideally with Kafka, Redis/ElastiCache, RDS, Aurora, and S3.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, or Quantitative Finance.
- Experience in energy trading, commodities, market data, pricing, or financial markets is preferred.
- Microsoft Azure experience, Athena or Redshift, C#/.NET, React, Angular, or AWS/Azure certifications are preferred.
