Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, debug, and test embedded sensor-control software for airborne imaging systems.
- Develop and evaluate hardware-software interfaces, system requirements, and overall system designs.
- Perform system modeling, simulation, analysis, unit testing, integration testing, and verification activities.
- Conduct complex technical investigations to improve system performance and resolve difficult requirements or interface issues.
- Coordinate with engineers across functions and participate in specification, design, code, architecture, and test reviews.
- Provide production support, problem resolution, status reporting, project prioritization, and vendor capability evaluation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field with at least nine years of related experience, or a graduate degree with at least seven years of related experience.
- Experience participating in software development throughout the design cycle, including major design and architecture reviews.
- Experience with hardware and software integration and testing, embedded development, avionics lifecycle execution, and DevSecOps or test automation.
- Experience with C++ systems development, software and hardware co-design, distributed systems, software architecture, APIs, BSPs, drivers, OpenGL, and health-and-status systems.
- Programming experience for Linux, Windows, and QNX, using Python or similar languages for test automation.
- Preferred experience includes Matlab/Simulink, embedded security and encryption, video transport and encoding, video processing algorithms, Bash, x86/ARM/FPGA/SoC, GPP, GPU, release engineering, configuration management, debug and trace analysis, real-time operating systems, SELinux, and network storage.
- Strong technical communication and ability to collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines.
