Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy services that improve the availability, manageability, and visibility of 6sense systems.
- Architect, build, and scale services and infrastructure.
- Own Trino and Spark clusters, front-end and back-end services, build configurations, infrastructure components, and service deployments.
- Write, review, and debug production code; create documentation and capacity plans; and troubleshoot live production problems.
- Contribute to open-source projects when functionality needs to be added or patched.
- Support the software engineering team in resolving technical issues.
- Lead and mentor junior and senior engineers.
- Drive end-to-end project delivery and provide design review and guidance.
- Work through vague and ambiguous problems with occasional guidance.
Requirements
- 9+ years of experience in a software engineering role or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience with Linux/Unix system administration and networking fundamentals.
- Strong ability to read code and write clean, maintainable, and scalable code.
- Good knowledge of Python or Java.
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining scalable services or service-oriented architecture.
- Experience with high availability.
- Experience with modern configuration management tools such as Pulumi, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet is a bonus.
- Exposure to build systems such as Bazel, Buck, or Pants is a bonus.
- Knowledge of the Hadoop ecosystem, including Spark, Hive, and Trino, is a bonus.
- Knowledge of standard security practices is a bonus.
- 3+ years of experience working with Kubernetes and Docker is a bonus.
- Good knowledge of JavaScript is a bonus.
