Base Salary

$177k - $365k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Own third-party AI-tool connectivity end to end, including authentication, traffic routing, internal data access, and boundary security.
  • Define reusable architecture standards, guardrails, and patterns for secure AI-vendor onboarding.
  • Build and operate custom MCP servers and connectors exposing internal tools such as Slack, Google Workspace, and Atlassian.
  • Lead incident response, cross-system troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, long-term fixes, and postmortems.
  • Build automation and integrations with scripting languages, platform APIs, and SDKs for connector lifecycle management, configuration as code, and monitoring.
  • Integrate AI tools with identity, security, and IT workflows including SSO/IdP, SCIM, DLP, logging, and ITSM.
  • Use AI assistants to accelerate coding, testing, documentation, configuration, and runbook development while validating results.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives including AI-tool onboarding, secure transport deployments, connector migrations, and integration-standard rollouts.
  • Mentor engineers, review designs and implementations, and provide technical direction.
  • Represent the team with internal stakeholders and external vendors while translating business needs into durable technical solutions.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including hands-on ownership of production services or platform integrations in a medium-to-large environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong backend programming skills in Python, Go, Java, TypeScript/Node, or similar, with solid software design and architecture ability.
  • Deep hands-on expertise with OAuth 2.0/2.1, OIDC, SAML, token exchange, and PKCE.
  • Strong systems design and troubleshooting skills across clients, networks, identity, edge/ingress, and backend services.
  • Experience building and integrating APIs and services using REST/RPC, webhooks, SDKs, and SaaS/tool APIs.
  • Knowledge of automated testing, code review, CI/CD, observability, and safe production rollout practices.
  • Familiarity with MCP, AI connector/gateway ecosystems, and security, privacy, and compliance controls such as SSO/SCIM, DLP, and access reviews.
  • Kubernetes/EKS and Terraform experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated use of AI tools to accelerate engineering work while validating outputs and protecting reliability and security.
  • Track record of staff-level scope, including leading complex initiatives, shaping cross-team roadmaps, mentoring engineers, and owning impactful outcomes.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and locations while modeling Pinterest’s values.
