Responsibilities

  • Design and develop maintainable automotive-grade Linux applications in C and C++ for embedded platforms.
  • Research and build software for telematics devices involving communication, networking, and positioning.
  • Design, develop, build, debug, and modify software enhancements and new products.
  • Enable platforms for research and development proofs of concept and product demonstrations for telematics use cases.
  • Translate business requirements into agile stories and tasks for planning and execution.
  • Build technical expertise across telematics domains and support efforts to bring products and solutions to market.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical, communications, computer engineering, or a similar discipline.
  • Five to eight years of overall software development experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Linux on embedded platforms.
  • Proficiency designing and developing reusable and scalable C and C++ code.
  • Understanding of STL containers and algorithms, Linux inter-process communication, and multithreaded applications.
  • Experience with Git, Gerrit, Perforce, Gtest-based C++ unit testing, OpenEmbedded, and BitBake package management.
  • Strong troubleshooting, debugging, written communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Automotive embedded software development experience is preferred.
  • Must pass a background investigation and drug screen and maintain a clean driving record because the role may require use of a company- or customer-owned vehicle.
