Advanced Engineer, Embedded Software

- Design and develop scalable, maintainable automotive-grade Linux applications using C and C++ for embedded platforms.
- Research and build software for telematics devices involving communication, networking, and positioning.
- Design, code, build, debug, and modify software enhancements and new products.
- Translate business requirements into stories and tasks for planning and execution within an agile team.
- Enable platforms for research, proof-of-concept development, and product demonstrations for telematics use cases.
- Build technical expertise across telematics domains and help bring products and solutions to market.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, communications engineering, computer engineering, or a similar discipline.
- 5–8 years of overall software development experience.
- Hands-on experience with Linux on an embedded platform.
- Strong C and C++ development skills, including reusable and scalable code and STL containers and algorithms.
- Understanding of Linux inter-process communication mechanisms, including sockets, message queues, and shared memory.
- Knowledge of multithreaded application concepts and techniques.
- Experience with Git, Gerrit, Perforce, and a Google Test-based C++ unit testing framework.
- Experience with OpenEmbedded and BitBake package management.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, written communication, and cross-geography collaboration skills.
- Prior hands-on embedded software development experience for automotive products is preferred.
