Base Salary
$176k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and direction to business and technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Develop, review, debug, and maintain secure, high-quality production code.
- Build and modernize Java/Spring Boot platforms supporting alternative investments.
- Re-platform critical applications from on-premises environments to AWS and operate cloud-native services.
- Design and operate messaging and event-streaming integrations with reliable delivery, error handling, and observability.
- Drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices, including code review, refactoring, test acceleration, release readiness, and incident/root-cause analysis.
- Establish validation standards for AI outputs covering correctness, performance, secure coding, peer review, automated testing, and security.
- Influence product design, application functionality, technical operations, and engineering processes.
- Serve as a function-wide subject matter expert and advocate for firmwide SDLC frameworks, tools, and practices.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability in production environments.
- Advanced proficiency in Java and strong practical experience building services with Spring Boot or equivalent Java frameworks.
- Hands-on experience designing, building, and operating messaging or event-streaming integrations such as Kafka, AWS MSK, SQS/SNS, or Kinesis.
- Practical cloud-native experience building, deploying, and operating services in AWS or another cloud environment.
- Experience leading enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development for coding, code review, test acceleration, or troubleshooting.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input/output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Experience coaching senior engineers or leads on compliant AI usage patterns and controls.
- Ability to independently solve design and functionality problems with little to no oversight.
- Preferred experience with reactive programming such as Reactor and event-driven or messaging and streaming systems.
- Preferred financial services, wealth management, or alternative investments domain experience.
