Responsibilities
- Conduct application systems analysis, development, testing, implementation, and operational support.
- Design, develop, and maintain Oracle database objects including PL/SQL stored procedures, functions, triggers, and packages.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries and perform database performance tuning across queries, indexes, and database structures.
- Develop data models and database designs that support data integrity, security, and scalability.
- Troubleshoot database discrepancies, performance bottlenecks, access problems, and other database-related issues.
- Collaborate with application developers, business analysts, users, and technology groups to implement database solutions.
- Participate in code reviews and maintain documentation for database schemas, processes, and objects.
- Advise or coach lower-level analysts and serve as a subject-matter expert to senior stakeholders and team members.
- Assess technology risks, support compliance with applicable policies and regulations, and escalate control issues appropriately.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of professional experience focused on SQL development with Oracle databases.
- Expert proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL, including complex stored procedures, functions, and packages.
- Demonstrated expertise in database performance tuning and optimization for large-scale enterprise systems.
- Strong understanding of Oracle database architecture, data modeling, and relational database design principles.
- Experience with Explain Plan, AWR reports, indexing strategies, partitioning, and other Oracle performance features.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
