Responsibilities
- Design and build modern React, Next.js, and TypeScript customer-facing web experiences.
- Define architecture for a multi-site platform integrating Xero’s core ecosystem, public web presence, and Salesforce Experience Cloud.
- Lead one engineering pod and guide the target architecture for customer experiences.
- Plan and execute careful migrations of live, high-traffic sites with minimal disruption.
- Make performance and accessibility default using Core Web Vitals and WCAG principles.
- Coach engineers and help teams build skills in React and AI.
- Partner with Product, Marketing, and Support to deliver customer experience improvements.
- Explore AI-powered features and agentic AI proofs of concept.
Requirements
- Deep architecture-level experience with TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
- Experience designing high-performance, content-rich multi-site platforms.
- Experience migrating live, high-traffic sites through careful, low-risk delivery plans.
- Working knowledge of Core Web Vitals and WCAG.
- Experience coaching engineers and leading through influence.
- Experience in e-commerce, media, agency, or other high-traffic web environments is valued.
