Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-quality, testable, scalable software solutions within established timelines.
- Build and maintain database access layers and data storage solutions for the SAS Viya Platform.
- Develop applications in containerized and cloud-native environments, including Kubernetes.
- Perform functional, unit, integration, regression, and performance testing, and review test plans.
- Maintain accountability for the full software lifecycle, including support for internal and external consumers.
- Participate in project scoping, scheduling, task tracking, and issue escalation.
- Create design and technical documentation with technical writers.
- Participate in open-source projects on behalf of SAS.
- Follow applicable security policies and processes for secure software development.
- Develop Kubernetes CRDs and Operators and optimize database access patterns.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- 8+ years of experience as a developer on large software projects.
- Experience developing applications in a containerized environment such as Kubernetes.
- Experience writing Golang, Java, or a similar programming language.
- Experience with relational databases, database schema management and migration tools such as Liquibase, and cloud-native applications with data persistence.
- Experience with integration, regression, and unit testing.
- Experience operating in a CI/CD environment and using Agile development practices.
- Experience with Kubernetes CRDs and Operators and shipping packaged commercial software is an additional qualification.
- Equivalent combinations of related education, training, and experience may be considered in place of the stated qualifications.
