Responsibilities
- Support continuous monitoring and enforcement of control systems security risk assessments.
- Write and improve cybersecurity processes and provide training to enforce compliance.
- Ensure cybersecurity requirements are implemented, validated, and tracked when unmet.
- Troubleshoot shipboard and prototypic equipment and resolve control systems security discrepancies and IT system issues.
- Train operations, test, and engineering personnel on control systems security and IT component access.
- Analyze DoD/DoN platform IT systems and develop security control implementation plans.
- Support system certification and continuous monitoring.
- Design, implement, operate, and maintain sensitive unclassified and classified computing systems in accordance with NAVSEA processes.
- Review equipment vendor software deliverables for cybersecurity compliance.
- Perform equipment research, risk management, project management, presentation preparation, and customer meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Systems, Computer, Electrical Engineering, or IT Cybersecurity.
- 5–10 years of relevant systems engineering and/or engineering experience.
- Experience with the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
- Active final DoD SECRET clearance.
- Preferred: master’s degree in Systems, Computer, or Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent technical degree.
- Preferred: 2–5 years of IT troubleshooting experience, including advanced networking, firewalls, group policy, and auditing.
- Preferred: CISSP or equivalent certification.
- Preferred: understanding of NIST 800-53 security controls.
- Preferred: US Navy submarine service experience and control systems security experience.
