Responsibilities
- Collaborate with designers and developers to support efficient population of the open world.
- Build and maintain spawning, AI, systemic gameplay, and other major open-world systems.
- Monitor and optimize performance and memory usage, and develop improvement strategies for other developers.
- Provide technical oversight through code reviews, mentoring, and reviews of technical proposals.
- Develop debug tools and designer tools for non-deterministic systemic gameplay.
- Write optimized, high-quality code aligned with project goals.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration across game systems and components.
Requirements
- At least 7+ years of professional programming experience in the games industry.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and knowledge of Unreal Engine.
- Experience with procedural content generation and systemic gameplay.
- Experience with current-generation console hardware and AI systems in games.
- Understanding of geometric algorithms and data structures.
- Experience writing multithreaded systems and profiling and optimizing code.
- Ability to solve technical challenges creatively and strategically and communicate complex concepts effectively.
- Preferred: professional experience with Mass AI in Unreal 5, ECS or Mass Framework, large development environments, or shipping at least one AAA title.
