Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain core cloud-native services for the global securities settlement platform.
- Own critical components from design and implementation through production operation.
- Use AI agents and AI-enabled tooling to write software specifications and implement software.
- At the VP level, guide architectural decisions, review critical code, and mentor engineers.
- Partner with business and operations teams to evolve the settlement platform through technology-driven automation and tooling.
Requirements
- Demonstrated senior software engineering experience owning complex, cloud-based production systems.
- Extensive hands-on software development experience, preferably with Java and distributed, event-driven services.
- Experience developing and operating cloud-native platforms using microservices, APIs, and managed cloud services.
- Practical experience using AI agents or AI-based tooling for enterprise software platform development and maintenance.
- Extensive experience writing well-tested code with industry-standard frameworks and patterns.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems, data consistency, failure modes, and operational concerns.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with engineers, architects, and business stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Preferred experience with serverless technologies, event-sourcing, domain-driven design, AWS, infrastructure-as-code, DevOps practices, Docker, Kubernetes, and high-volume financial processing systems.
- Experience with Bazel, familiarity with emerging AI trends and standards, and native-level Japanese are advantageous.
