Responsibilities
- Increase end-to-end test coverage with Playwright and AI-generated tests.
- Maintain a fast, reliable existing test suite.
- Manually test accounting edge cases that automated tests may miss.
- Reproduce, triage, and document bugs for engineering teams.
- Integrate tests into CI so builds fail when regressions occur.
- Fix bugs and implement product features after test coverage is established.
- Help define quality practices for Maxima’s Toronto engineering team.
Requirements
- Knowledge of TypeScript, React, and Playwright.
- Experience building or maintaining end-to-end test suites for web applications.
- Ability to identify and manually test edge cases.
- Comfort using AI tools to write and maintain tests.
- Strong attention to correctness and numerical accuracy.
- Initiative and a strong sense of ownership.
- Preferred: experience with CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions.
- Preferred: experience testing financial, accounting, or other data-heavy products.
- Preferred: experience contributing product code alongside test code.
