Base Salary
$173k - $255k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and deliver quarterly team goals while leading engineers through ambiguous, open-ended problems.
- Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics on ideation, technical constraints, risks, and trade-offs.
- Identify and resolve project, process, technology, and business issues.
- Support artifact availability through metrics, escalation, operational support, and on-call efforts.
- Improve code review and design standards and promote quality and ownership through writing and tech talks.
- Develop team talent through feedback, guidance, and leading by example.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale.
- Experience building highly available distributed systems using technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
- Experience scaling Iceberg, Flink, Airflow, Spark, Kafka, Snowflake, and Terraform.
- Ability to define technical plans and design significant features or system components with simple, extensible architectures.
- Experience making significant changes safely in large codebases and developing supporting tools and practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
