Base Salary
$192k - $240k/yr
Responsibilities
- Operate a high-reliability Kafka deployment by understanding hardware and cloud-provider components.
- Develop a high-performance streaming platform to ease customer adoption.
- Integrate open source solutions with internal systems for efficient Kafka operation.
- Optimize Kafka client behavior for high-throughput application performance.
- Drive complex projects and ensure timely delivery of high-quality results.
- Mentor junior team members and interns.
Requirements
- Ability to operate independently and experiment methodically.
- Strong communication skills for gathering requirements and leading technical initiatives.
- Willingness to learn new languages and technologies.
- Experience delivering software solutions in Java or Golang.
- Experience building and operating large-scale stateful systems.
- Familiarity with distributed systems concepts like consensus and replication.
- Bonus: Direct experience with large-scale streaming systems like Kafka.
- Bonus: Familiarity with C++ or Rust.
