Base Salary
$220k - $265k/yr
Responsibilities
- Conduct and apply cutting-edge AI and natural language processing research to real-world problems.
- Architect and implement production systems combining symbolic and numerical or data-driven AI techniques.
- Translate product vision and customer requirements into technical milestones with cross-functional project leadership.
- Prioritize commercial, open-source, customized, and greenfield applied-science solutions based on product needs.
- Lead through technical mentorship, coaching, collaboration, and establishment of engineering best practices.
- Document architectural choices throughout planning and implementation.
Requirements
- Graduate degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent deep technical experience.
- Proven experience as an AI Engineer or Applied Research Engineer in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience building and debugging stochastic AI systems, including symbolic AI, procedural generative models, logic programming, and natural language processing.
- Deep understanding of integrating AI agents into production software, including API design, message brokers, containerization, and compute and memory budgeting.
- Fluency with Git and the Unix shell, with the ability to work across multiple programming languages, ideally including Python, C++, or C#.
- Strong mathematical background in logic, linear algebra, probability, and statistics.
- Sufficient machine-learning-adjacent experience to understand model constraints, data requirements, and the state of the art.
- Experience in multidisciplinary industries such as robotics, smart grids, precision agriculture, game development, or aerospace is highly valued.
- Modern C++ experience for interfacing with data-ingestion and product pipelines is preferred.
- Strong collaboration, communication, execution, system-stability, and interoperability skills.
