Senior Lead AI Engineer (AI Foundations, VLM Customization)

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components for foundation-model training, LLM inference, similarity search, guardrails, model evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability.
- Develop and introduce advanced LLM training and inference optimization techniques to improve scalability, cost, latency, throughput, and hardware utilization.
- Partner with engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
- Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap for foundational AI systems.
- Apply novel AI research techniques to production systems and help lead and mentor engineering teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field plus at least six years of experience developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies, or a master’s degree in one of those fields plus at least four years of relevant experience.
- At least six years of programming experience with Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
- Experience deploying scalable and responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or an equivalent private cloud.
- Experience designing, developing, integrating, delivering, and supporting complex AI systems.
- Experience with AI and ML technologies such as LLM inference, similarity search, VectorDBs, guardrails, and memory.
- Experience optimizing training and inference software for hardware utilization, latency, throughput, and cost.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor an engineering team and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain complex AI concepts.
