Responsibilities
- Develop and recommend technical solutions for client requirements and moderately complex software problems.
- Design, develop, implement, test, and deploy clinical applications within the IHS Resource and Patient Management System.
- Use MUMPS/FileMan programming and IHS standards and conventions to support healthcare information technology systems.
- Design functional and regression test scenarios for complex software solutions and participate in the QA lifecycle.
- Analyze and debug FileMan/M source code and investigate and resolve software support tickets from end users.
- Provide training and end-user support while collaborating with a multidisciplinary distributed development team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an approved field including computer science, information systems, engineering, software engineering/programming, mathematics, business/finance, or related listed disciplines.
- Eight years of experience, including at least six years of specialized experience designing and developing healthcare information technology systems.
- Experience with requirements analysis, design, implementation, and testing of software.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
- Preferred: 15+ years of software development experience and significant intensive and progressive experience with FileMan/MUMPS programming.
- Preferred: advanced knowledge of VA and IHS environments, RPMS, or legacy VISTA.
- Preferred: experience with Team Foundation Server and/or Azure DevOps, Agile processes, QA lifecycles, and remote/distributed teamwork.
