Base Salary
$142k - $199k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the stability, scalability, and reliability of the multi-tenant payment platform supporting Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu.
- Drive technical solutions from design through implementation and operation for Tier 1 payment services.
- Design, build, and operate high-throughput systems processing millions of payment transactions.
- Lead reliability and performance improvements, including payment processor integrations and regional payment requirements such as SCA.
- Apply security best practices for payment-data storage, tokenization, and PCI compliance.
- Write well-tested, maintainable code and participate in design discussions and code reviews.
- Identify opportunities for innovation, automation, operational improvement, and technical debt reduction.
- Support production systems through on-call rotations, incident response, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Develop expertise in global payment ecosystems and mentor interns and junior engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or a comparable field, and/or equivalent work experience.
- At least 5 years of related work experience.
- Hands-on experience with Scala, Java, or similar programming languages.
- Hands-on experience designing APIs, including REST and gRPC.
- Strong analytical and system design skills.
- Experience with event-driven systems using technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SNS/SQS.
- Exposure to cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Spinnaker, and Kubernetes.
- Strong communication, teamwork, adaptability, continuous learning, and mentoring skills.
- Preferred experience with functional programming, especially Scala and the Cats Effect ecosystem.
- Preferred experience managing Tier 1 production services, on-call rotations, and incident response.
