Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and operate large-scale web APIs for Rakuten Travel mobility services.
- Develop and improve services for buses, car rentals, and car sharing.
- Collaborate with team members, product managers, and Rakuten Group teams responsible for payments, points, and membership.
- Perform API improvements, performance tuning, monitoring, alert response, and problem resolution.
- Address user inquiries and help drive software development with ownership.
- Contribute technical leadership and support the growth of the engineering organization.
Requirements
- Experience designing, developing, and operating large-scale web APIs on Linux servers using Java and the Spring Framework.
- Experience designing tables and creating queries for efficient use of RDBMS technologies such as Oracle Database and NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and Redis.
- Ability to participate in active and positive discussions in English.
- Motivation to work collaboratively in a development team.
- Experience in project management or team leadership.
- Ability to drive software development with ownership.
- Continuous willingness to learn new technologies and explore solutions to challenges and requirements.
