Responsibilities
- Define and execute the observability and engineering-enablement roadmap for Project Orion in alignment with enterprise reliability and SRE goals.
- Build scalable, reusable telemetry solutions and end-to-end monitoring for critical business services and payment flows.
- Create and maintain dashboards and visualizations for real-time client journeys and operational workflows.
- Guide teams in implementing SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, golden signals, and effective alerting.
- Support observability tooling integration across on-premises, public cloud, and containerized environments.
- Review monitoring toil, remediate operational inefficiencies, and drive improvements to MTTD and recovery outcomes.
- Provide technical support and implementation guidance to SREs and developers and influence central platform enhancements.
- Assess emerging observability practices, AI/ML-driven insights, anomaly detection, and vendor capabilities.
- Build AI adoption use cases and remediation solutions using the Citi AI technology stack.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in SRE, observability engineering, or platform infrastructure roles focused on operational telemetry.
- Hands-on experience with observability tools and stacks such as Grafana, Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, ELK, and Splunk.
- Deep understanding of SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, and telemetry practices for high-availability environments.
- Experience troubleshooting and supporting observability integrations across hybrid platforms, cloud, containers, and on-premises environments.
- Experience building dashboards aligned with business outcomes and incident workflows, particularly for critical payment flows.
- Familiarity with AI/ML observability capabilities, trace correlation, baselining, and alert tuning.
- Experience working in enablement or platform teams and scaling best practices across diverse business units.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong collaboration, communication, technical influence, commercial awareness, and stakeholder-management skills.
