Base Salary
$125k - $180k/yr
Responsibilities
- Deploy, configure, maintain, and scale the enterprise Kong AI Gateway platform for high availability, low latency, and high-throughput AI traffic.
- Configure secure routing for MCP servers, tools, agents, internal microservices, external SaaS platforms, and upstream LLM services.
- Provision gateway routes, credentials, and access policies to streamline onboarding for internal consumer applications.
- Design and implement IAM controls for AI workloads, including OAuth 2.0, Okta integrations, non-human identities, and secure identity propagation.
- Manage SSL/TLS certificates, mTLS configurations, automated renewal, and certificate rotation.
- Enforce AI security guardrails, policy controls, DLP, prompt injection protection, PII and secret redaction, and prompt/response filtering.
- Implement traffic shaping, load balancing, circuit breakers, provider failover, and semantic caching to improve resilience, latency, and token cost efficiency.
- Build declarative YAML and Helm infrastructure configurations and reusable GitLab CI/CD pipelines for GitOps-driven deployments.
- Instrument gateway operations with OpenTelemetry and route structured audit logs to Splunk for usage, latency, and control-effectiveness metrics.
- Use built-in Kong plugins and develop custom Go or Lua plugins for routing, context injection, and governance requirements.
- Identify operational improvements, remove platform bottlenecks, and collaborate with product, engineering, security, infrastructure, risk, compliance, and AI teams.
