Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain C++ software for Desktop SEM products.
- Develop software interfaces and low-level control for microscope hardware.
- Design, prototype, and test algorithms and technical concepts.
- Own software components throughout their lifecycle.
- Work hands-on with microscopes to develop, test, and troubleshoot software.
- Investigate technical issues, contribute to root-cause analysis, and improve products.
- Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Software Quality, Applications Development, and other engineering teams.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, integration, and software deployment.
- Evaluate technologies and propose new product features and improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong programming skills in C++.
- Experience with low-level hardware control or hardware/software integration.
- Familiarity with Git or similar version-control systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on interest in understanding complex physical systems.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate within multidisciplinary teams.
- Good communication skills in English.
- Experience with Linux, embedded systems, Yocto, control systems, REST APIs, gRPC, network programming, Jenkins, JavaScript, Vue, Dezyne, Coco, or scientific instrumentation is advantageous.
