Responsibilities
- Own the design, development, maintenance, testing strategy, and operations of Java-based API services.
- Develop complex, scalable, multi-tenant applications using relational and in-memory databases and public cloud services.
- Contribute to modernization of an accounting system, including transformation from monoliths to microservices.
- Collaborate with Product Management, User Experience, clients, and engineering leads to define requirements, milestones, and deliveries.
- Design maintainable code and create unit tests, while supporting CI/CD delivery and operational stability.
- Use AI-assisted development tools for code generation, debugging, code review, and documentation.
- Participate in architecture and design sessions and deliver high-quality software aligned with BNY’s engineering strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science engineering is required.
- At least 4 years of proven commercial experience with Java-related technologies.
- Strong hands-on experience building and delivering complex, highly scalable software systems.
- Experience with multiple programming languages and the ability to discuss their relative strengths and weaknesses.
- Experience with distributed and big data technologies such as Redis, Spark, and Kafka.
- Experience transforming monolithic applications into microservices and building multi-tenant applications.
- Experience with web technologies, public cloud services, distributed data processing engines, and REST or GraphQL APIs.
- Working knowledge of relational and in-memory databases, including Oracle and Redis.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, SaaS technologies, and public cloud providers such as Azure or AWS.
- Experience using AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, or similar LLM-based assistants.
- Fluent spoken and written English.
- Experience developing or maintaining applications written in C++ is preferred.
