Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, cloud-native full-stack applications that meet scientists’ requirements end to end.
- Deliver production-grade data products that support AI/ML use cases in biologics discovery.
- Build intuitive product features and user journeys for complex scientific workflows.
- Collaborate with product, design, data science, engineering, and scientific teams.
- Improve data models, core architecture, code quality, scalability, performance, reliability, and availability.
- Contribute across frontend, backend, infrastructure, and other layers of the technology stack.
- Implement engineering excellence practices including code reviews, automated testing, logging, monitoring, and alerting.
- Support modern software practices, solve complex engineering problems, stay current with technology, and mentor peers.
Requirements
- Experience designing end-to-end full-stack software in the cloud.
- Deep expertise in Java and Python; experience with C++ and Node.js is advantageous.
- Experience with a major web framework such as Spring, Flask, or Django.
- Strong frontend experience with React, Angular, or Vue.js, plus CSS and a CSS framework such as Bootstrap.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases and query optimization techniques.
- Proficiency in Linux environments and strong knowledge of data structures, design patterns, and antipatterns.
- Experience with coding best practices, testing, code review, version control, and CI/CD automation tools such as Jenkins, TravisCI, or GitHub Actions.
- Experience analyzing, profiling, investigating, interpreting, and documenting data structures.
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong teamwork, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with computational biology or bioinformatics concepts is desirable.
- Basic machine learning and MLOps knowledge, microservice architecture experience, message queuing experience with RabbitMQ or SQS, and GitOps for Kubernetes experience are desirable.
