Responsibilities
- Collaborate with technology leaders and product teams to translate department goals and requirements into technical solutions.
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality Java applications and systems.
- Lead the technical architecture and design of scalable, performant, and maintainable Java-based projects.
- Optimize application performance through code, database query, and resource-utilization improvements.
- Troubleshoot design flaws and system bottlenecks to improve application stability and performance.
- Validate Java environments and conduct system performance testing to assess capacity and identify bottlenecks.
- Prepare and present systems reports covering performance metrics, bottlenecks, and improvement recommendations.
- Conduct code reviews and provide feedback on code quality, readability, and development practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in software engineering or computer science.
- At least 7 years of professional experience in Java development.
- Strong experience with Java application development and software architecture.
- In-depth knowledge of object-oriented design principles and design patterns.
- Experience with Spring and Hibernate.
- Experience designing event-driven architectures.
- Experience with AWS or GCP is desired.
- Ability to solve complex software system issues and write clean, efficient, readable code.
- High-level project management skills and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Upper-intermediate written and spoken English proficiency.
- Knowledge of the software development life cycle.
- Experience monitoring production applications with telemetry and distributed logging tools such as New Relic, Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, Dynatrace, CloudWatch, and ELK.
