Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and growth of the Rakuten Pay mobile app.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to incorporate business objectives and technical details into designs and deliver value through service release.
  • Lead development projects to proactively solve business challenges.
  • Own dedicated product areas and drive continuous improvement in product strategy and user experience.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and continuous learning within the department and company.

Requirements

  • Frontend development experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with at least one modern JavaScript framework such as React.js, Vue.js, Svelte, or Next.js.
  • Experience maintaining product quality through version control, automated testing, and technical debt management.
  • Knowledge of modern CSS preprocessors or frameworks such as Sass, SCSS, Tailwind, Daisy, or Bulma.
  • Knowledge of TypeScript and HTTP protocols.
  • Knowledge of contemporary UX research techniques such as A/B testing and multivariate testing.
  • A strong desire to improve UX through deep understanding of the system and product.
  • Preferred: a bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Preferred: experience with Progressive Web Apps, Single-Page Applications, Server-Side Rendering applications, cloud services or CDNs such as Firebase, build tools such as webpack or Vite, and basic databases, backend, or mobile development knowledge.
  • Preferred: knowledge of AI and Machine Learning technologies and interest in web accessibility and standards such as W3C.
