Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated tests and test frameworks for cloud platform services and APIs.
- Build API, integration, contract, regression, system, and end-to-end tests for distributed services.
- Test data integrity, asynchronous workflows, service interactions, authentication and authorization, and failure scenarios.
- Build performance, scalability, and reliability tests for critical platform services.
- Integrate automated tests and quality gates into CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop test infrastructure, test data, mocks, and tooling for complex cloud services.
- Investigate distributed-system failures using logs, metrics, traces, and diagnostic information.
- Partner with software engineers and architects to improve testability and software quality.
- Establish performance baselines, increase automated coverage, identify defects earlier, and reduce reliance on manual regression testing.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in SDET, Quality Engineering, Software Engineering, or Test Automation roles.
- Strong programming skills in Java, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or another modern programming language.
- Hands-on experience testing REST APIs, microservices, and cloud-native applications.
- Experience with API, integration, regression, and system-level testing.
- Understanding of distributed systems, asynchronous processing, retries, failures, and service dependencies.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or equivalent.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate with software engineers, architects, product managers, and DevOps engineers.
- Preferred experience with AWS or another major cloud platform; Kubernetes, Docker, and containerized applications.
- Preferred experience with performance and load testing using JMeter, Gatling, or equivalent.
- Preferred experience with API contract testing, event-driven or asynchronous systems, observability tools, and UI automation frameworks such as Playwright or Selenium.
