Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end delivery for strategic customer accounts, including requirements scoping, delivery sequencing, pre-shipment QA, and blocker resolution.
- Act as the first technical responder for assigned accounts, triaging questions, managing timelines and expectations, and escalating issues when necessary.
- Represent XDOF’s technical capabilities to sophisticated customers while protecting proprietary methodology.
- Translate recurring customer needs and delivery challenges into roadmap input for the data engine, pipelines, and annotation systems.
- Create reusable playbooks and, as the role matures, lead platform-integration engagements and model fine-tuning and evaluation services.
Requirements
- Bring 5+ years of engineering experience, ideally including customer-facing or forward-deployed work.
- Demonstrate a founding-engineer profile with the ability to own multiple areas, solve difficult problems without an established playbook, and engage directly with customers.
- Have strong production coding skills, preferably in Python, with experience shipping and operating data pipelines or infrastructure.
- Demonstrate high agency and comfort with ambiguity, driving customer outcomes without waiting for detailed specifications.
- Communicate effectively with engineers and executives, including running discovery, respectfully challenging unrealistic requests, and explaining complex tradeoffs.
- Preferred qualifications include experience in robotics, embodied AI, autonomy, or ML data infrastructure; familiarity with robot-learning data such as teleoperation, egocentric data, and VLA or robot foundation models; and forward-deployed or solutions experience at an enterprise or frontier-AI company.
