Responsibilities
- Architect and design scalable Java backend microservices using Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and REST APIs.
- Own distributed systems where reliability, latency, throughput, and high-volume processing are critical.
- Design and operate Kafka event-streaming systems, including partitioning, replication, ordering, consumer lag, rebalancing, retries, and delivery semantics.
- Implement distributed caching with Redis or Valkey, including cache invalidation, TTL management, and failure handling.
- Influence solution architecture, mentor developers, and drive strong technical outcomes.
- Build and ship proofs of concept using AI/ML/GenAI services to address enterprise problems.
- Manage partner communications and navigate ambiguity in a fast-changing, matrixed environment.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience with strong Java backend development experience.
- Production application development experience with Spring Boot and Spring Framework.
- Understanding of REST APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and backend design patterns.
- Experience with Kafka or equivalent event-streaming platforms.
- Hands-on experience with Redis or other caching technologies.
- Preferred experience designing and operating high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems.
- Preferred experience with AWS services including EC2, EKS, ALB, CloudWatch, S3, and ElastiCache.
- Preferred experience with Redis/Valkey, distributed caching, cache invalidation strategies, TTL management, and cache failure scenarios.
- Preferred understanding of Kafka architecture and processing semantics.
- Preferred experience with MongoDB replication, sharding, indexing, aggregation pipelines, and high-volume workloads.
- Preferred track record of shipping AI/ML/GenAI proofs of concept for enterprise problems.
