Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary technical advisor and architecture owner for a portfolio of United Nations customers.
  • Partner with Account Managers on technical discovery, solution design, account strategies, and opportunity progression from prospect to launch.
  • Lead customer-facing architecture reviews, migration assessments, technical workshops, proofs of concept, and generative AI accelerators.
  • Design and review architectures for enterprise applications, ERP modernization, constituent portals, contact centers, payment and grant systems, event platforms, and unified multi-region data platforms.
  • Evangelize AWS services through speaking engagements, blog posts, reference architectures, workshops, and conference presentations.
  • Collaborate with AWS service teams, specialist Solutions Architects, Professional Services, and partners to deliver integrated solutions and communicate customer requirements through Product Feature Requests.
  • Mentor early-career talent and contribute to the AWS Solutions Architect community through technical content, mock interviews, and field initiatives.

Requirements

  • Experience in one or more technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, or data and analytics.
  • Experience designing, implementing, or consulting on applications and infrastructure.
  • Experience in IT development or implementation/consulting within the software or Internet industries.
  • Business-level fluency in English.
  • Preferred: 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience.
  • Preferred: experience with contact center and telephony solutions, ideally Amazon Connect.
  • Preferred: experience delivering solutions for public-sector, government, or United Nations customers, including data sovereignty and residency requirements.
  • Preferred: experience with large-scale migration and modernization from on-premises or other public cloud providers.
  • Preferred: experience designing and building generative and agentic AI solutions and data and analytics platforms.
  • Preferred: experience working with end-user or developer communities and managing enterprise customer and partner relationships in a consultative setting.
  • Preferred: working proficiency in a second language such as French and experience migrating legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
  • Preferred: experience working with AWS technologies from a DevOps perspective.

  • The role includes onsite time with customers for strategic engagements and typically requires 10–25% travel outside Geneva, depending on customer alignment.
  • The team supports customers across Geneva, Rome, Valencia, New York, Vienna, and other locations where UN agencies are based.
