Responsibilities
- Identify performance requirements and risks, execute load and stress tests, analyze results, and improve response times, throughput, and resource utilization.
- Build and use monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting, telemetry, and service health indicators to detect regressions and diagnose production behavior.
- Manage performance execution and delivery of features and projects while coordinating priorities, deadlines, quality, and timely completion.
- Analyze and optimize inefficient code paths and resource usage, validating improvements through measurement and testing.
- Investigate complex performance issues using profiling, heap dumps, thread dumps, and diagnostic tools, then drive root-cause fixes and preventive measures.
- Contribute to architectural design and reviews with consideration for scalability, reliability, maintainability, observability, and performance.
- Develop and maintain performance test scripts and automation using LoadRunner, NeoLoad, JMeter, and JavaScript-based frameworks.
- Review code, uphold coding and testing standards, troubleshoot technical issues, maintain service quality, and document features and performance findings.
- Mentor junior engineers and advocate for emerging technologies that improve team innovation and productivity.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in software development or performance engineering, preferably in a product-based or SaaS organization.
- Deep expertise in one or more of C, C++, C#, .NET, Python, Java, or JavaScript.
- Hands-on experience with workload modeling, performance test planning, scripting, test execution, monitoring, and results analysis.
- Proficiency with LoadRunner, NeoLoad, JMeter, k6, Grafana, and Dynatrace, plus experience using Datadog, Fiddler, browser developer tools, and platform monitoring solutions.
- Proven ability to deliver complex software projects on time and within budget.
- Proficiency with GitHub and JIRA, and understanding of cloud technologies and DevOps principles.
- Strong problem-solving, attention to detail, communication, collaboration, mentoring, and continuous-learning skills.
- Preferred qualifications include a master’s degree, experience with Azure, AWS, or GCP, familiarity with GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools, and experience developing accessible technologies.
