Responsibilities
- Design, build, and improve research and production infrastructure supporting trading efforts.
- Develop foundational libraries, backend systems, and workflow tooling for strategy research, testing, and deployment.
- Work across Python and C++ to balance researcher usability with performance-critical systems development.
- Partner with quantitative researchers and traders to translate research workflows and models into scalable production software.
- Improve system performance, algorithmic efficiency, scalability, and bottlenecks across distributed and cluster-based compute environments.
- Own projects end to end from design and implementation through testing, rollout, and continued improvement.
Requirements
- At least 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in Python.
- Experience designing and implementing highly algorithmic code and understanding data structures, algorithmic complexity, and efficient implementation.
- Experience building production systems in Linux environments and working with concurrent and distributed systems.
- Familiarity with cluster, cloud, or other large-scale compute environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent.
- Background in research infrastructure, high-performance computing, distributed systems, or performance engineering.
- Experience improving bottlenecks, scalability, or migrations from researcher-friendly tooling to higher-performance systems.
- Ability to communicate technical tradeoffs with engineers and quantitative users.
- Experience with Python/C++ interoperability, library development, and quantitative workflows is a bonus.
