Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture and design of highly available, massively scaled CloudWatch collector systems.
- Shape technical strategy, roadmaps, architectural decisions, and tradeoffs for owned services.
- Build telemetry collection agents in Rust and Go and contribute to upstream OpenTelemetry communities.
- Raise engineering standards through code reviews, design reviews, coding standards, and operational excellence.
- Expand services across AWS Regions and investigate root causes of incidents while driving preventive fixes.
- Mentor and develop engineers and partner with product and engineering teams on ambiguous problems.
- Champion GenAI and AI-powered development tools across the team.
Requirements
- Experience mentoring, serving as a tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
- Experience leading architecture and design for new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Professional, non-internship software development experience.
- Software development experience within the last three years.
- Programming experience in at least one modern language such as Python, Ruby, Go, Java, C++, C#, or Rust.
- Preferred: bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Preferred: experience across the full software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
