Responsibilities
- Define technical direction for Android and mobile-facing systems across teams.
- Lead hands-on design of durable production mobile architecture grounded in Android expertise.
- Shape automation, observability, rollout, testing, and AI-enabled validation practices for reliable delivery.
- Create system contracts defining boundaries, ownership, and operating expectations for mobile-facing systems.
- Raise mobile-system engineering judgment through reusable standards, patterns, and technical guidance.
Requirements
- Deep expertise in modern production Android architecture and a track record of setting technical standards beyond one feature team.
- Deep Android expertise with enough iOS fluency to inform cross-functional architecture decisions involving backend, web, product, identity, reliability, release quality, and observability.
- Experience shaping mobile-facing platform contracts or backend service boundaries across native and adjacent client surfaces.
- Ability to read, debug, and contribute to backend systems when needed to unblock mobile-facing outcomes.
- Experience shaping AI-enabled engineering systems that improve validation, product quality, and delivery confidence across teams.
- Strong reliability and release-quality judgment across production mobile systems and experience raising quality standards across multiple initiatives.
- Track record of improving engineers' technical judgment through clear standards, reusable patterns, and guidance on complex mobile-system work.
- Excellent product judgment and communication skills, including connecting technical decisions to customer outcomes and aligning teams around durable decisions.
- Preferred experience building Android experiences across foldables, wearables, Android Auto, or other native platform surfaces.
- Preferred experience with enterprise mobile environments involving identity, device management, compliance, security, or MDM/EMM constraints.
- Preferred experience shaping mobile design-system foundations and design-to-code workflows for consistency, accessibility, development velocity, and AI-assisted UI generation across native platforms.
