Senior Staff Android Engineer
AlphaSenseResponsibilities
- Own Android platform architecture, modular boundaries, and native engineering patterns across devices and form factors.
- Lead hands-on system design and build production-ready mobile systems using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, coroutines, and modern Android architecture.
- Improve mobile reliability and release quality through testing, automation, observability, rollout practices, and AI-enabled validation.
- Align mobile, iOS, and backend teams on API behavior, failure modes, authentication and session flows, performance, and ownership boundaries.
- Mentor mobile and adjacent technical teams, share knowledge, shape technical culture, and raise standards for system design and operational quality.
Requirements
- Deep production expertise in Android platform architecture, modular design, performance, security, reliability, Jetpack Compose, and modern Kotlin concurrency.
- Ability to reason across Android, iOS constraints, backend APIs, authentication and session flows, release risks, device fragmentation, managed environments, and client/backend service contracts.
- Experience with AI-assisted development workflows, AI harnesses, evaluation practices, or AI-driven testing systems.
- Experience with testing strategy, automation, observability, CI/CD, and production mobile quality practices.
- Track record of leading significant technical initiatives, setting engineering standards, mentoring engineers, and raising technical expectations across teams.
- Strong product judgment and communication skills, including experience aligning teams through RFCs, ADRs, technical plans, or decision records.
- Preferred experience with foldables, managed Android devices, varied device configurations, enterprise mobile applications, MDM/EMM, regulated customer environments, and production mobile design systems.
- Preferred ability to make targeted contributions to backend services or APIs using Java/Kotlin, Spring Boot, Node.js, or Python.
