Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, and provide production support for SAP S/4HANA applications and complex ABAP components.
- Develop and re-engineer application components, software packages, programs, reusable objects, integrations, and automations across multiple platforms.
- Implement SAP UI5/Fiori applications, including custom extensions and configuration for user roles, catalogs, and groups.
- Build automation, testing utilities, frameworks, and tooling to improve software quality and delivery speed.
- Develop RESTful and SOAP-based APIs, including OData services, for SAP components and cloud deployment setups.
- Translate business and technology requirements into technical designs and deliverables while collaborating in an agile environment.
- Contribute to continuous integration, continuous delivery, DevOps practices, Solution Manager activities, prototypes, wireframing, and design-thinking methods.
- Use enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools for coding, refactoring, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation, while validating outputs for correctness, performance, security, and resiliency.
- Apply responsible AI practices, including safe handling of sensitive data and sharing effective usage patterns with peers.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 6 years of applied experience.
- Hands-on SAP ABAP development experience covering object-oriented ABAP, ABAP Core Data Services, performance tuning, and RICEF.
- Experience with SAP HANA data modeling and development tools, including HANA Studio and ABAP Development Tools.
- Knowledge of ADBC, Native SQL, database procedures, text search, and SAP HANA data access and development approaches.
- Experience building and consuming SAP data and reporting capabilities, including ALV on HANA and HANA Live model consumption.
- Experience designing applications that consume OData services and developing RESTful APIs using OData.
- Experience working in agile project environments with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and critically evaluating, validating, and refining their outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
- Preferred: SAP S/4HANA implementations, SAP Build, ABAP Unit, ABAP Double, implementation and upgrade projects, maintenance and post-production support, Solution Manager components such as BPCA, ChaRM, and Focus Build, and SAP Fiori development using RAP.
