Responsibilities
- Build and maintain platform-wide observability tools that correlate technical metrics with customer impact.
- Design automated Infrastructure-as-Code modules, reusable telemetry components, and standardized monitoring frameworks.
- Define and improve telemetry standards for container orchestration, service meshes, and distributed tracing.
- Participate in a primary on-call rotation and implement reliability fixes identified through blameless post-mortems.
- Build data and platform pipelines using Go, Python, or Bash to automate observability workflows and support service scaling.
- Configure monitoring, tracing, and log aggregation systems to diagnose production issues and improve availability.
Requirements
- Experience or strong project work with Linux system administration, observability platforms, and TCP/IP, HTTP, and DNS.
- Proficiency in at least one of Go, Python, or Java, along with Bash scripting capabilities.
- Understanding of Docker and Kubernetes/EKS container orchestration concepts.
- Knowledge of software engineering fundamentals including algorithms, data structures, unit testing, code reviews, and QA practices.
- B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 1 year of exposure to AWS cloud environments, Infrastructure-as-Code, or telemetry systems.
