Base Salary
$161k - $262k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead projects and coordinate the activities and technical tasks of other engineers.
- Define outcomes, improve team processes, and provide technical advice to senior leaders on systems, solutions, challenges, and strategy.
- Own the design, implementation, quality, performance, availability, and operational excellence of software components.
- Design, estimate, and implement new and refactored software services securely, reliably, and at scale.
- Evaluate implementation alternatives and trade-offs and contribute recommendations to the technical engineering roadmap.
- Provide technical leadership for a small team and mentor engineers at all levels.
- Collaborate with management to establish and improve engineering standards and work with Product, Engineering Operations, business, and support teams.
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide incident support.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of relevant experience and a bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- At least 8 years of experience with Python or an equivalent high-level programming language.
- Advanced skills with relational and NoSQL data stores, caching solutions, and messaging or queuing systems.
- Expertise in distributed services, backend systems, and fault-tolerant, scalable architectures.
- Experience building services on public cloud platforms, preferably AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Experience managing infrastructure as code with Terraform.
- Ability to lead projects, mentor engineering staff, and manage relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
