Responsibilities
- Assess user requirements and user stories and translate them into technical tasks and development scripts.
- Identify data elements in Natural/ADABAS applications and establish new table structures in Oracle.
- Write and execute data migration scripts and develop Oracle views for Tableau business intelligence needs.
- Support, patch, and upgrade Natural, ADABAS, and CONNX software.
- Collaborate with application architects, developers, database administrators, business owners, and project stakeholders.
- Participate in Scrum ceremonies, estimate and size sprint tasks, and document and present technical work and findings.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience as a software developer on application development projects.
- At least 8 years coding with Natural, ADABAS, Attachmate EXTRA!, Unix AIX, Cronus Espbatch Job Scheduler, SCL/JCL, Oracle, SQL, and SVN or equivalent version control.
- At least 8 years supporting, patching, and upgrading Natural, ADABAS, and CONNX software.
- At least 8 years eliciting end-user requirements, forming epics and user stories, and following requirements through delivery.
- At least 8 years writing technical documentation and testing applications.
- At least 3 years working on an Agile Scrum team, using Microsoft Teams or similar collaboration tools, and estimating and sizing sprint tasks.
- Preferred qualifications include 4+ years writing user documentation, working with NearStar and EntireX by SoftwareAG, and working on Java applications.
- Candidates must be available for an in-person interview in Austin, accept a client-issued laptop in person, pass a Texas-law-authorized criminal background check, and not appear on specified federal debarment or prohibited vendor lists.
Benefits
- On-site work five days per week at the client headquarters in Austin, Texas, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CT.
- Occasional evening, weekend, or holiday work may be required for production cutovers and is pre-approved and compensated at the quoted hourly rate.
- Contractors are responsible for travel, parking, and living expenses.
- Work products are works made for hire and become the property of the client agency.
