Responsibilities
- Lead OEM technical pre-sales engagements, including RFI/RFP responses, solution presentations, architecture workshops, demonstrations, proofs of concept, and pilot designs.
- Design end-to-end connected-vehicle architectures covering connectivity management, eSIM lifecycle management, device management, data ingestion, and vehicle operations.
- Integrate Aeris platforms with OEM backend systems, telematics service providers, mobile network operators, and cloud environments.
- Define technical proposals, integration specifications, architecture decision records, multi-MNO strategies, regional connectivity models, and roaming optimization approaches.
- Translate OEM requirements and competitive gaps into product recommendations and collaborate with Product Management on automotive platform enhancements.
- Maintain automotive connectivity knowledge bases, competitive analyses, reference designs, integration patterns, technical FAQs, solution briefs, architecture diagrams, demo scripts, white papers, and blog content.
- Enable Sales and Sales Engineering teams on automotive connectivity and support Marketing with technical thought-leadership content.
- Collaborate with Service Delivery, Professional Services, Automotive Connectivity Strategy, Product, Engineering, and Sales teams to ensure technical solutions are aligned, implementable, and supportable.
- Participate in relevant industry standards discussions and working groups.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in solutions architecture, technical pre-sales, systems engineering, or technical consulting.
- 3+ years of experience working in or with the automotive industry, particularly connected vehicles, telematics, V2X, or automotive connectivity.
- Direct experience with eSIM technologies, including architecture, provisioning flows, and ecosystem participants such as SM-DP+, SM-DS, eIM, ECS, and LPA.
- Experience with connectivity management platforms and/or IoT platform architectures.
- Experience engaging enterprise or OEM technical stakeholders at architecture and engineering levels.
- Experience with MNO ecosystems, MVNO models, roaming, and multi-carrier connectivity strategies.
- Strong understanding of cellular technologies including 4G/LTE, 5G NR, network slicing, and private networks.
- Proficiency in cloud architectures such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including API design, microservices, event-driven architectures, and data pipelines.
- Familiarity with vehicle electrical/electronic architectures, including TCUs, head units, gateways, and zonal controllers.
- Working knowledge of automotive protocols and standards including MQTT, SOME/IP, UDS, OBD, CAN/CAN-FD, and Ethernet.
- Understanding of automotive cybersecurity frameworks including ISO 21434 and UNECE WP.29 R155/R156.
- Experience with data analytics, observability, or AIOps concepts is required or relevant to the role.
- Exceptional communication and technical writing skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts and produce technical proposals, white papers, and executive documentation.
- Ability to work autonomously, learn new domains, and influence cross-functional stakeholders without formal authority.
- Preferred qualifications include Tier 1 OEM or supplier experience, GSMA specifications knowledge, OTA update platform experience, software-defined vehicle experience, fleet or telematics platform experience, connected-vehicle regulatory knowledge, and exposure to AI/ML applications in automotive operations.
