Base Salary

$200k - $225k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Develop and improve the digital signage platform across Android, webOS, and Tizen devices
  • Build and maintain media playback capabilities and video playback pipelines
  • Develop device management and fleet-management functionality
  • Support content delivery across a fleet of long-running devices
  • Improve platform reliability and 24/7 device uptime
  • Debug concurrency issues, race conditions, memory issues, and performance problems on constrained hardware

Requirements

  • Strong Android development experience using Kotlin
  • Experience building software for digital signage, smart TVs, streaming devices, kiosks, or similar embedded media platforms
  • Comfort with concurrency, asynchronous programming, multithreading, race-condition debugging, and memory issues
  • Experience building software for 24/7 device uptime
  • Experience with the signageos.io platform is preferred
  • Experience with Android SoCs such as Amlogic, Rockchip, Qualcomm, or MediaTek is preferred
  • Experience with Media3, ExoPlayer, hardware decoders, video playback pipelines, webOS, or Tizen is preferred
  • Experience with MDM or fleet management and MQTT is preferred
  • Performance-tuning experience on constrained hardware is preferred
