Responsibilities
- Investigate production incidents by analyzing application logs, system metrics, and monitoring data, identifying root causes, and escalating complex issues.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and support Java-based applications and services to maintain system stability and availability.
- Develop, implement, and validate bug fixes and application enhancements under senior-engineer guidance.
- Operate monitoring, alerting, and observability tools and identify gaps in coverage.
- Execute CI/CD pipeline runs, deployments, releases, and routine production configuration tasks.
- Support Docker- and Kubernetes-based applications in predefined production configurations.
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to production alerts within defined SLAs.
- Document incident resolutions, troubleshooting procedures, and known issues in runbooks and the team knowledge base.
- Perform health checks, log reviews, capacity and performance monitoring, patching, backups, and scheduled maintenance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science, or information technology.
- 2–4 years of experience in Java development or support.
- Good knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, and enterprise application development principles.
- Understanding of microservices and monolithic application architectures and their deployment models.
- Basic debugging and troubleshooting skills for application and production issues.
- Familiarity with Jenkins or similar CI/CD tools, Git-based version control, and automated deployment practices.
- Strong SQL knowledge and experience with database querying and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems, command-line tools, and networking fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience deploying and supporting containerized applications with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with Oracle Database and JBoss Application Server or similar enterprise Java application servers is advantageous.
- Fluent English and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
