Responsibilities
- Monitor critical infrastructure services and ensure high availability and operational performance.
- Measure and optimize system performance and improve service capabilities.
- Lead major incident management, including problem detection, outage communication, triage, and resolution.
- Conduct change control and problem management activities, including root cause analysis and corrective and preventive action tracking.
- Collaborate with L2/L3 SREs and platform teams to strengthen services, monitoring, alerting, and observability.
- Reduce operational toil through automation using tools such as Ansible, PowerShell, Python, and Terraform.
- Define and report service metrics including QoS, uptime, MTTR, and MTBF, and help establish service-level indicators and objectives.
- Use monitoring and alerting tools to improve response times and document operational knowledge in knowledge bases and SOPs.
- Provide 24/5 support with on-call coverage during weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- Graduate or postgraduate qualification, preferably in computer science or a related field.
- At least 3 years of relevant SRE experience supporting infrastructure services.
- Experience with complex data-center and cloud-hosting environments.
- Experience measuring and reporting KPIs to leadership.
- Infrastructure-as-code experience with Ansible, Terraform, or CloudFormation is preferred.
- Hands-on scripting experience with shell scripts, Perl, Python, or PowerShell.
- Experience with at least one of Grafana, Dynatrace, Splunk, CloudWatch, Sumo Logic, or Opsgenie.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
- Experience with Jira, Jira Service Management, and Confluence.
- Working experience with Agile Scrum methodology.
- Strong written and spoken English and effective cross-functional collaboration skills.
