Responsibilities
- Triage, investigate, qualify, and escalate day-to-day security alerts.
- Improve detection quality by reducing noise, closing detection gaps, and proposing new signals.
- Automate recurring alerts and manual security checks through scripting.
- Run targeted audits of applications, configurations, and third-party providers.
- Create prioritized remediation plans from audit findings.
- Own ad hoc security projects across the engineering platform.
- Review and harden security for tools, integrations, and third-party providers, including Dust.
- Support fraud investigations by analyzing abuse patterns and improving early detection.
Requirements
- Demonstrated curiosity about security and ability to learn quickly.
- Pragmatic, responsive, and proactive approach to closing work and calibrating response to risk.
- Comfort asking questions and collaborating across engineering teams.
- Comfortable working in written and spoken English.
- Some scripting ability with Python or an equivalent language.
- Basic understanding of web applications, APIs, and cloud environments.
- Personal projects, CTFs, homelab experience, bug bounties, or security writeups are helpful.
- First exposure to a SIEM, detection rules, or log analysis at scale is helpful.
- Interest in fraud and abuse patterns in financial products is helpful.
