Responsibilities
- Own the People Technology API strategy and promote API-first architecture across the HR technology landscape.
- Own end-to-end solution architecture, standards, governance, technical roadmaps, and technical assurance for the Workday platform.
- Design, develop, and support complex inbound, outbound, real-time, event-driven, and batch integrations using Workday and MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
- Architect reusable APIs and enterprise integration patterns, including lifecycle management, versioning, monitoring, security, and governance.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership for Workday integrations using Workday Studio, Core Connectors, EIB, Cloud Connect, REST and SOAP APIs, RaaS, Calculated Fields, Business Process Framework, and Workday security.
- Leverage Workday Extend, Workday Orchestrate, Workday AI, Self-Service Agents, MCP, and emerging agentic AI capabilities for intelligent employee experiences.
- Partner with HR, technology, business stakeholders, vendors, implementation partners, product teams, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Lead architecture reviews, solution design workshops, technical governance, documentation, and mentoring of engineering teams.
- Ensure solutions meet enterprise security, privacy, compliance, scalability, resilience, and operational requirements.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience designing and implementing Workday integrations.
- At least 3 years of experience designing and implementing MuleSoft integrations.
- Deep hands-on experience developing and architecting Workday integrations.
- Expertise with Workday Studio, Core Connectors, Enterprise Interface Builder, Cloud Connect, Workday REST and SOAP APIs, Report-as-a-Service, and Workday security.
- Strong hands-on experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and API-first architecture.
- Experience designing secure RESTful APIs, enterprise integration patterns, data models, and event-driven architectures.
- Understanding of OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, and SAML authentication and security standards.
- Experience integrating Workday with enterprise applications, cloud platforms, and third-party SaaS solutions.
- Experience leading architecture reviews, technical governance, and solution design workshops.
- Workday Pro certifications are required.
- Preferred qualifications include Workday Extend, Workday Orchestrate, Workday AI, Self-Service Agents, MCP, enterprise AI platforms, AI agent frameworks, event streaming, Azure Integration Services, AWS integration services, TOGAF or equivalent certification, and MuleSoft certifications.
