Responsibilities
- Serve as a top-tier individual contributor delivering high-impact software solutions in a specialized technical area.
- Lead software design, development, implementation, code quality, and performance for scalable systems.
- Design and implement secure, performant, maintainable APIs and cloud-native applications.
- Participate in architecture discussions and provide high-level and detailed technical feedback.
- Optimize databases, high-volume data processing, distributed caching, and production performance.
- Collaborate with engineering, product, business, and external stakeholders to align technical solutions with strategic goals.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers across the organization.
- Support customer-facing activities such as implementations and audits when needed.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and contribute to engineering, product, and business direction.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least 10 years of software engineering experience required.
- At least 3 years of AWS experience, including EC2, RDS, Lambda, and S3, with hands-on cloud-native application development preferred.
- At least 5 years of Java and Spring Boot experience building enterprise backend services preferred.
- At least 2 years of Angular experience developing responsive web applications preferred.
- At least 2 years of PostgreSQL expertise, including schema design, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience with large system design, database optimization, and high-volume data processing preferred.
- Experience with secure and performant API design, distributed caching, event-driven architectures, asynchronous processing, serverless architectures, and zero-downtime database migrations.
- Knowledge of HIPAA requirements, healthcare data security, privacy regulations, audit trails, and interoperability standards such as HL7 and FHIR.
- Experience with Terraform, Jenkins, Datadog or similar observability platforms, automated testing strategies, and production systems serving multiple customers.
- Advanced degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, healthcare domain experience, open-source contributions, or technical thought leadership are preferred.
- Strong software engineering principles, scalable architecture, performance optimization, technical communication, cross-functional collaboration, and pragmatic problem-solving skills are required.
