Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain test plans, test cases, execution reports, and supporting project documentation.
- Perform functional, regression, system, integration, interoperability, performance, reliability, and release-validation testing across devices, firmware, mobile applications, and cloud APIs.
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks using Python and suitable automation tools.
- Set up and maintain test environments with lab equipment, hardware simulators, protocol analyzers, sniffers, power-measurement tools, and environmental test chambers.
- Analyze failures, capture logs and traces, isolate defects, support root-cause analysis, and track issues to closure.
- Review requirements, specifications, architecture inputs, and user scenarios to improve test coverage, traceability, risk-based testing, and release criteria verification.
- Follow software quality processes, test-documentation standards, Agile/Scrum practices, and release-readiness requirements.
- Collaborate with firmware, hardware, cloud, mobile application, product, and program teams.
Requirements
- BE/BTech in Electronics and Communication, Electronics and Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering.
- 4 to 8 years of industry experience in testing.
- Hands-on experience testing embedded products, microcontrollers, microprocessors, BLE, and IoT devices.
- Hands-on embedded-platform test automation experience; Python scripting experience is desirable.
- Basic analog and digital hardware knowledge, with C and assembly awareness desirable.
- Good computer skills and understanding of basic hardware tools.
- Linux-based tool knowledge and testing exposure to HVAC devices, sensors, or set-top boxes are advantageous.
