Base Salary
$136k - $201k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and scale production environments using AWS and Terraform.
- Improve platform resilience through failure-based testing, automated recovery strategies, and proactive capacity planning.
- Design and deliver reusable platform components and self-service tools that improve developer experience and reduce toil.
- Define and evolve observability standards covering system metrics, distributed tracing, and SLO frameworks.
- Own projects from scoping and estimation through planning, execution, and rollout.
- Mentor engineers, uphold infrastructure quality, and shape organizational infrastructure standards and best practices.
- Participate in technical design discussions and collaborate with software engineering and security teams.
- Participate in a low-volume on-call rotation.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, cloud engineering, or software development roles.
- Hands-on experience operating production environments in AWS.
- Proficiency in Go or Python and experience building production-grade automation, tooling, or libraries.
- Strong experience with Terraform.
- Experience with container orchestration platforms such as ECS or Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions.
- Experience designing reusable platform components based on team requirements.
- Understanding of observability practices including system metrics, distributed tracing, and SLOs.
- Exposure to failure-based testing and automated recovery strategies.
- Strong written and verbal leadership and communication skills.
- Experience evangelizing reliability best practices.
- Bonus: experience with microservices architectures, Kafka or other event-streaming systems, internal developer platforms, self-service infrastructure, systems security, compliance, or hardening practices.
