Responsibilities
- Design enhancements, updates, and programming changes for systems software, networking infrastructure, and control-plane software.
- Analyze designs and determine coding, programming, and integration activities based on product architecture and objectives.
- Write and execute comprehensive test plans, document assigned application areas, and debug and resolve code and integration issues.
- Collaborate with management and internal and outsourced development partners on software design, project progress, and issue resolution.
- Represent the software engineering team throughout all phases of projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- Typically 6–9 years of experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication, including explaining product architectures, design proposals, and technical options to stakeholders.
- Proficiency in C/C++, data structures, algorithms, and Linux/FreeBSD operating system concepts.
- Experience implementing or enhancing routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, RSVP, LDP, PIM, or IGMP.
- Familiarity with Layer 2 switching, EVPN, VXLAN, VPLS, and L2VPN is preferred.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted software development practices, including code generation, test creation, debugging, documentation, and responsible review of generated output.
